The Yimen Chen Clan originates from Yimen Village, Cheqiao Town, De’an County, Jiangxi. The founding ancestor, Chen Wang, a descendant of the Yingchuan Chen family, settled here in 731 AD during the Tang Dynasty. Known for his loyalty, filial piety, and virtue, Chen Wang established a family tradition of unity that lasted 960 years without division. At its peak, over 3,900 members lived together, celebrated as “The World’s Largest Family.” Yimen Chen represents not only bloodline continuity but also the inheritance of values—loyalty, filial duty, and moral integrity. Though Emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty decreed the clan’s division, descendants spread across China and beyond while preserving their ancestral teachings. Today, the Yimen Chen Clan remains a symbol of Chinese cultural heritage and family tradition.
