The Yimen Chen Clan originated in Yimen Village, De’an County, Jiangxi, when Ancestor Chen Wang established the family settlement in 731 AD. For 960 years, the clan lived together without division, earning the title “The World’s Largest Family.” Over time, especially after Emperor Renzong’s decree of division in the Song Dynasty, the Chen descendants spread across China and beyond. The Ding family shares the same ancestral roots with the Chen clan, both tracing back to the moral legacy of Chen Shi of Yingchuan.
